Staff Stenographer syllabus is released by the Staff Selection Commission along with the SSC Stenographer exam notification on its official website. The SSC Stenographer Syllabus is based on the SSC Stenographer exam pattern. Before the candidates appear for the SSC Stenographer exam, they should have a clear idea about the SSC Stenographer syllabus on the important topics of grade C and D, so that the aspirants can start their preparation accordingly.

  • There are three sections in the SSC Stenographer question paper. Candidates have to answer questions from all the three sections: general awareness, reasoning and English language
  • The exam has two phases: Written Test and Skill Test. Candidates who perform well in written test are called for SSC Stenographer Skill Test
  • Selected candidates are recruited for Stenographer Grade “C” and “D” posts.
  • The question paper consists of 200 questions for 200 marks to be done in 2 hours.

  • 100 questions are asked from English language and comprehension.

SSC Stenographer Syllabus for Skill Test: Tier II

Only the qualified candidates of SSC Stenographer CBT test will be capable to appear for the Shorthand Skill Test. The aspirants will be provided a passage of 800 words and 1000 words for Grade D and Grade C respectively. Candidates qualifying for the written test will be called for SSC Stenographer Skill Test for final selection. In the skill test, a ten minutes dictation will have to be typed on the computer with a speed of 100 words per minute for Grade C candidates and 80 words per minute for Grade D candidates. SSC Stenographer final result will be released after this test result only.
